Job Details

The most meaningful leadership roles don’t just manage people – they shape futures. It starts here.

At IMA - Capitol Hill, we believe that changing the beginning of a child's life can change their whole story. We're looking for a leader who believes it, too. As our Assistant Director, you won’t just support daily operations. You'll help shape a school culture where teachers grow, children thrive, and families feel genuinely seen and valued.

This is a newly created position and a genuine opportunity to join our administrative leadership team and help shape what’s next at Capitol Hill.

This is a role for someone who leads from the front, who knows how to build trust with a team, drives enrollment through authentic relationships, and holds a high bar for what great Early Childhood Education looks like. You’ll work in close partnership with our School Leader to run one of the most respected ECE programs in the greater Seattle area, backed by the resources and support of Endeavor Schools, a growing national family of private schools.

What makes IMA - Capitol Hill special? A lot! You’ll be stepping into a school known for its historic and beautiful campus, a teaching team with exceptional retention rates that speaks to a culture people genuinely want to stay in, and an active, deeply engaged parent community that shows up and invests in this school every day. This is a place with real roots and real momentum.

Compensation: $29.00–$31.00/hour, depending on education and experience
Bonus: $2,000 hiring bonus (paid after 120 days post-hire)

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with the School Leader to meet enrollment objectives and drive student retention through meaningful family relationships and community engagement
  • Lead alongside the School Leader to implement ECE curriculum and build a culture of excellence that recognizes and elevates every team member
  • Oversee school compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and licensing requirements
  • Manage classroom ratios and staffing distributions with both creativity and fiscal responsibility
  • Play an active role in hiring, onboarding, and retaining high-quality educators
  • Support staff development through goal-setting, ongoing feedback, and performance coaching, including recognition, performance improvement plans, and evaluations
  • Step in as a key operational leader whenever the School Leader is unavailable
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Bring

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Early Childhood Education or a comparable school setting
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience strongly preferred
  • An Associate's degree in Education or equivalent experience (specific state licensing requirements apply)
  • Comfort with budgets, revenue accountability, and operational metrics is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general technology platforms
  • A genuine belief and passion for Early Childhood Education

Why work for us? Because we truly care about our people!

We know that great leaders need more than a title. They need support, community, and room to grow. At IMA, you'll join a team of educators who are serious about Early Childhood Education and genuinely care about each other. As part of Endeavor Schools, you'll have access to:

  • Competitive compensation + $2,000 sign-on bonus
  • Medical insurance, 401(k), and paid time off
  • Education scholarships and child tuition discounts
  • A collaborative leadership team invested in your professional development
  • The stability and resources of a growing national school network
